From 2025, we’ll run entirely on biogas and 100% renewable electricity.
From 2025, we’ll run entirely on biogas and 100% renewable electricity.
For many years, Alufluor has relied on natural gas in its production process. Starting in 2025, the company will make a full switch to biogas, marking a major step forward in its sustainability journey. This transition enables Alufluor to achieve carbon neutrality within Scope 1 emissions, calculated in accordance with the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED II). By eliminating fossil fuels from its direct operations, Alufluor further strengthens its position as a low-carbon producer of aluminium fluoride.
All our products are manufactured using 100% renewable electricity. The shift to renewable electricity has significantly reduced our carbon footprint. Based on our 2024 electricity consumption, we emit 2,859 tonnes less CO₂ per year*. This is equivalent to the annual emissions of approximately 610 fossil-fuelled passenger cars, each driving 20,000 kilometres per year.

Alufluor has conducted a comprehensive cradle-to-gate life cycle assessment (LCA).
Data for all major flows was collected directly from each supplier, while additional information was sourced from the Ecoinvent database. The LCA has been third-party verified and confirms that Alufluor’s aluminium fluoride has a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to a standard product.
